Amy helps insurers understand their biggest risks using actuarial and financial analysis, predictive modeling, and catastrophe peril simulations, and finds ways to address those risks with reinsurance, consulting, and more. She leads a team of actuaries and data analysts in Chicago. Amy’s focus is on Property, and particularly hail and severe convective storm risk, and regional mutuals in the Midwest, with extensions to hurricane, wildfire, casualty, and national insurers that concentrate on personal and small commercial business.
Amy is known for challenging the status quo and being the first in line for free food. She loves knitting hats, the Chicago Public Library, and riding spin and Divvy bikes to the amazement of her two preschoolers and her infant.
Prior to joining Gallagher Re in 2015, Amy held the title of Actuarial Senior Consultant at CNA Insurance in Chicago. During her seven years at CNA, she worked in several roles, most recently in Business Strategy and Execution. Prior to that role, she was a Predictive Modeler, and helped develop a model for pricing Workers' Compensation insurance. As part of CNA’s rotation program, Amy also worked in Professional Liability Reserving and Commercial Property and Liability Lines Pricing.
Amy graduated with Highest Honors and magna cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Actuarial Science and Mathematics. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
