David Smith is the Senior Director of Natural Hazard Science for CoreLogic, where he heads the Natural Hazard Science team within the company’s Science and Analytics group. David’s team is responsible for the development and scientific support of CoreLogic’s catastrophe risk models worldwide – including models for earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, severe convective storms, wildfires, winter storms, and various other weather-related perils for more than 100 countries and territories. These modeling processes involve real-time event loss estimation and other event response activities in support of CoreLogic’s clients. David also oversees CoreLogic’s annual submittal to the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology, and these submissions have been successfully certified since the process began in 1997.
